Rev. Kathy Wadsley
Deacon (Ext. 21)

In working with HUMC’s Commission on Education, Church Family Council, and the Safety Committee, I lead the Sunday school and weekday classes for all ages, Vacation Bible School, and the library, as well as the child protection, child care, and safety ministries of the church. My passions for ministry include helping people grow in their faith, learning how the brain learns, and teaching that addresses students’ multiple intelligences.
After teaching public school music, I answered the call to be a Christian educator in 1980. A study tour in Japan was a part of earning a Master of Christian Education degree at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. My faith journey has led me to serve churches in three other conferences before coming to HUMC in 2003. Certified as a Minister of Christian Education, I was ordained as a deacon in full connection in 1998. I write poetry, enjoy nature, and serve on the Christian Educators Fellowship Board of Directors.
Little-Known Fact: Kathy doesn’t just play the dulcimer. She actually hand-made her very own.
