I feel blessed to be part of the Hudson United Methodist Church. The congregation is active and growing. The worship services are inspiring, and there are numerous opportunities for study, spiritual growth, missions, and service to God and our fellow man.
My background includes being raised by wonderful parents in a Christian home. I grew up experiencing a United Methodist Church as a family and a second home, where I had the opportunity to develop friendships with people who cared about God and each other. As a young adult under the guidance of my pastors, I began to hear God’s call to pastoral ministry. The journey took me to Otterbein College and United Theological Seminary for formal education and preparation. After my ordination in 1969, I served as a pastor in five congregations in Magnolia, Mt. Vernon, Mansfield, Ashtabula, and Cuyahoga Falls over more than 32 years.
For 29 years, I’ve been married to Linda—a wonderful partner, mother, and grandmother. Professionally she is a trained counselor and doula (caregiver for infants and families after birth). We live in Cuyahoga Falls, and we have five adult children: our daughter Laura and her husband Jeff live in Brook Park; our son Jeff, his wife Ann Marie, and our two granddaughters, Ryan and Alie, live in the St. Louis area; our daughter Stephanie and her husband Patrick live in Kent; our son Eric, his wife Courrtney, and their children Kasey and Caden reside in Port Clinton; and our son David has a special friend, Ansley, in Ashville, N.C.
As associate pastor of congregational care, I help members of the congregation connect to God and find ways in the life of the church to connect to one another in worship and service.
My hobbies include sports (the Browns, Indians, Cavs, Buckeyes, and local colleges and high schools) and music (classical, easy listening, popular, soft rock, and new age).
Little-Known Fact: Before entering the ministry, Reverend Paul worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an apprentice and journeyman machinist. He’s much happier working with people than with machines.
