All About Hudson United Methodist Church (HUMC)

New Members  – Making A “Fresh Start” At HUMC

Thinking about joining HUMC? We encourage all prospective members to participate in “Fresh Start”—a kind of welcoming program scheduled each fall, winter, and spring. Fresh Start involves a six-week class, held during the Sunday school hour, in which you’ll explore the basic tenets of Christian faith and life and United Methodism. Along the way, you’ll also learn about our church’s organization, get acquainted with its leaders, and discover all the opportunities for education, service, and spiritual development that HUMC offers.

Whether you’re coming to us from another United Methodist church or another denomination or inquiring about Christianity and United Methodism for the first time, you’ll find Fresh Start a great opportunity to renew and deepen your faith. “Fresh Start” isn’t a requirement to join the church, but it is a great way to get to know us!

To learn more about Fresh Start or about joining HUMC, please call 330.650.2650, ext. 23.

Reserving HUMC Facilities for Weddings, Funerals, and Other Events

HUMC makes its facilities, including the Christian Activities Center and kitchen, available to both members and non-members at rental rates determined by the trustees, based on the church’s schedule, your application, and approval of the senior pastor. As a United Methodist congregation, HUMC does not permit alcohol on its premises. Certain other restrictions apply.

Child Protection Policy – A Safe Place For Kids

HUMC maintains a safe environment for children. Following guidelines set by the General Conference of the United Methodist Church, our child protection policy mandates that everyone entrusted with minors in church activities receive formal child protection training and take a refresher course every three years.

Child protection training is now online. Click the link to access our child protection training materials. After reviewing the materials, please remember to complete, sign, and return the last page of the training materials (Page 42) to the Church Office in order to obtain credit for class completion.

For more information about HUMC’s child protection provisions, please contact the church office at 330.650.2650
