How long have you been at HUMC? Since November 16, 2022.
What is your favorite Bible verse or book of the Bible? I’m drawn to the call stories of Jeremiah and Isaiah: Jeremiah1:4-10 and Isaiah 6:8. Other Scriptures that have been meaningful to me include Joshua 1:9 and Matthew 11:28-30.
What are your favorite hymns? I’m especially moved by Be Still My Soul, Be Thou My Vision, Oceans, 10,000 Reasons, and The Piano Guys’ instrumental version of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.
What is your favorite part of your job? Discovering together, in small groups of all ages, the infinite meaning, inspiration, and guidance found within Scripture.
What are your favorite foods? Grilled salmon and my husband’s chicken fried rice.
Where do you like to vacation? At any of my kids’ homes.
What is your favorite color? Burgundy Red
What is your favorite season in the church? Advent, for the anticipation and the lights.
What is your favorite book? I love a good fictional saga: “The Good Earth”, “Pillars of the Earth”, “The Red Tent”. I also read a lot of nonfiction by John Maxwell and Patrick Lencioni.
Tell us about your family. My husband Mark and I were high school sweethearts. We’ve raised four kids: Samantha (engaged to Ryan), Alex (married to Danielle), Melody, and Monica (married to Traci) who, with our young grandsons Teo and Xavi, will soon be moving back to Ohio from Hawaii.
