Meet our staff

Clark Stein

Senior Pastor

(Ext. 103)

Hello!  My name is Clark and I will be serving as the future Senior Pastor of Hudson United Methodist Church. I have served for 27 years in my call to ministry, and I am ordained as a Full Elder of The East Ohio Conference of The UMC.

I am passionate about worship and preaching, conveying how relevant the gospel is today. I love to teach others and being involved with adult bible studies. I also practice radical hospitality by opening doors and welcoming all so that they may hear the Bible’s call of peace with justice for all.

With respect to ministry, I believe that all Christians are called to proclaim, the good news of the Kingdom of God and salvation through Jesus Christ to a hurting world. While we all share in this pursuit, some are called to serve as servants of the word and sacrament. This position calls for one who is willing to instruct other believers in their spiritual growth, which is a tremendous responsibility and privilege granted to those called by God, and recognized by the church. This entails not only evangelism but also calling believers into a life of accountability in their spiritual journeys and encouraging the pursuit of holy living. This is accomplished not only through preaching and teaching, but through active life example. My theology is open and affirming, Jesus-centric, spirit-inspired, happy for the creation of each new day; raised up by God in a brand new creation; and always looking for ways to widen circles, erase lines, and welcome everyone more into the Kingdom of God.

I am married to Kathleen, an elementary school teacher, and we have four adult children: Caleb, Hannah, Ezekiel, and Micah.

Reserving HUMC Facilities for Weddings, Funerals, and Other Events

HUMC makes its facilities, including the Christian Activities Center and kitchen, available to both members and non-members at rental rates determined by the trustees, based on the church’s schedule, your application, and approval of the senior pastor. As a United Methodist congregation, HUMC does not permit alcohol on its premises. Certain other restrictions apply.

Safe Sanctuaries – A Safe Place For Kids

HUMC maintains a safe environment for vulnerable persons (children, youth, or adults whose behavior indicates that he or she is mentally or emotionally incapable of caring for themselves or their interests, or who may be unable to protect themselves from abuse, neglect, exploitation, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse by others). Following guidelines set by the General Conference of the United Methodist Church, our Safe Sanctuaries policy mandates that everyone with the potential to be entrusted with vulnerable persons in church activities receive formal training and take a refresher course every three years.

For more information about HUMC’s Safe Sanctuaries provisions, please contact the church office at 330.650.2650, ext. 101.
